A Letter from a Scholar: Erica Gerero
Dear Donors,
I am writing this letter to express my gratitude to all of you for having the big heart to support us and to give us an education that will always be a big help not just for me, but also to my parents; It is a help that makes all of you a part of making one’s dream journey, a support for every student in making them learn, and a chance for a comfortable life through our education.
I am Erica, a grade 11 student and I’ve been a Mano Amiga Academy Scholar for so many years, from kindergarten until now when I am a senior high school student. I have always been proud of being a student of a school where I was given a quality education with tuition fees subsidized. I am that type of student who looks forward to having the name under the honor list; this started when I entered high school. The biggest achievement I am very proud of is when I graduated junior high school with high honors. Because even after the challenging adjustment I made in the middle of the pandemic, for every goal and hard time I had to focus on my studies with the help of my teachers and classmates paid off when I graduated. Our hard work to make sure that we are listed as merit awardees every quarter has paid off.
The scholarship has allowed me to have the education where I was taught to be something beyond myself to have a greater future. It also benefited me to be in a school where I was pushed to come out of my shell to show the best part of me and where they give a program on helping me make the choice, and decide on the clear path that I wanted to be. Also, the scholarship didn’t only benefit me, but also my parents primarily because they pay low tuition fees. Even though we are not that financially stable, they are able to enroll me in and give me a chance at a stable and quality education. All of these because of the help you have generously given, my dear donors. They were able to secure me and my brother to an education where we are able to be taught and focus properly.
Again, I want to say thank you for being there and allowing me to have a wonderful education. Also, thank you for staying and giving me a reason to have a greater future. For me, all of you are one of the reasons for me to give the best out of me in my studies to pay forward the help you’ve given to me. I will always be grateful to all of you with my heart for being a part of making my dream journey at the very start. I will continue to strive to make my education worth it and continue to make goals every day. Thank you so much for supporting us, donors.
Sincerely,
Erica Mae D. Gerero
