Mano Amiga Academy’s engaging curriculum focuses on helping students to become increasingly independent learners while preparing them to succeed in tertiary education and beyond.

Curriculum (Upper School: G8-G11)

Grade 8 (Junior High School)

  • The 8th graders use the XSEED curriculum, which is contextualized in the Philippine setting. XSEED is also aligned to the K-12 DepEd standards.

  • What is XSEED?

    • It is a research-based academic solution for schools designed to build thinking skills and problem-solving confidence in children.

    • As a result, XSEED children ask more questions, can write in their own words, like doing word problems in mathematics, are not afraid to speak up in Engish, can complete their homework on their own, persist longer in solving problems, and score well on tests.

Grades 9-11

  • The 9th to 11th graders follow the curriculum prescribed by the DepEd. Listed below are some strategies used by a Mano Amiga teacher in order to make his or her lessons more interactive and meaningful.

    • Active Learning

    • Experiential Learning

    • Inquiry-based Learning
