Embarking on their three-week internship, Princess, Lorry May, and Katrina each had unique reasons for choosing Mano Amiga Academy. Princess and Lorry May, who graduated from Mano in 2022, are now in Senior High School at Universal College of Paranaque, both dreaming of pursuing psychology. Being part of the batch affected by the pandemic, they were excited to revisit their alma mater, curious to see what changes had taken place. For Katrina, the decision to join was inspired by the stories shared by her co-interns and the school’s reputation as she researched more about it. Despite diverse motivations, a common thread emerges—the desire to contribute to and experience the growth of the Mano Amiga community.

Witnessing Mano Amiga through a Different Lens

Lorry's observation of the school's operational dynamics provided her with a newfound appreciation for the efforts behind providing quality education. It was an eye-opening experience, revealing the challenges of managing an educational institution while keeping the welfare of students and families at the forefront. Princess, on the other hand, found herself marveling at the school's commitment to growth and empowerment, not just academically but in creating a nurturing environment for all.

“As an alumni and an intern, I can say that Mano Amiga Academy has always been  and still is an epitome of growth, empowerment, and service.” -Princess

Heartwarming Encounters and Lifelong Lessons

The interns’ journeys were filled with heartwarming and enlightening moments. Katrina's engagement in the community visit and the Play to Learn program made her realize the importance of making education both fun and accessible. Lorry described her experience as "incomparable," cherishing the healthy and supportive community that made all challenges manageable. For Princess, the experience was "ineffable," filled with nostalgia, learning, and an appreciation for the people who make Mano Amiga what it is.

The diversity in their stories reveals a common thread: Mano Amiga's unwavering dedication to its students, families, and community. Whether it was through the introduction of new programs, the enhancement of facilities, or the simple yet meaningful interactions within the school's halls, each intern witnessed the tangible manifestations of Mano Amiga's mission to serve and uplift.

“I have never seen other schools hold programs to help parents who work so hard to make ends meet the way Mano Amiga does.” - Lorry May

Legacy of Growth and Gratitude

Katrina extended her appreciation, acknowledging the Mano Amiga team for their tireless efforts behind the scenes. Lorry, filled with admiration, thanked the Mano Amiga community for setting high standards and striving to provide a better education and life. Princess's message expressed endless gratitude for the transformative experiences, even dating back to her student days.

The internship experiences at Mano Amiga Academy, as shared by Katrina, Lorry, and Princess, highlight the significant impact of an educational institution committed to its mission. Mano Amiga stands out not just for its academic excellence but for its holistic approach to education, community involvement, and personal development. These stories of discovery, growth, and gratitude underscore the lasting legacy of Mano Amiga—a legacy that continues to inspire and shape the futures of its students, alumni, and interns alike.

As we reflect on these experiences, let's remember the power of education to transform lives and communities. Mano Amiga Philippines is more than a school; it's a beacon of hope, a source of strength, and a home to all who are part of its journey.

“Mano Amiga really cares about the well-being of the people who are part of their community and they don’t sugar-coat it. They prove it through their kind actions.” - Katrina
